VRCO and PCS EDVENTURES & THRUST UAV in the Joint research and development into the next generation of Flight Control Computers & associated sensors
Nottingham, June 14, 2017– VRCO signs MOU with PCS EDVENTURES & THRUST UAV
PCS EDVENTURES & THRUST UAV focuses on drone tech while designing components and frames to the drone FPV (first person view) sector. Thrust-UAV started working with PCS Edventures in late 2014 to develop an advanced robotics curriculum for a Saudi Arabian science center project.
VRCO, a midlands based venture supported by Derby University and the Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering is developing a next generation personal VTOL craft. VRCO has today signed a MOU with PCS EDVENTURES & THRUST UAV for the joint research and development into the next generation of Flight Control Computers & associated sensors.
Joe Egusquiza, Director of Business Operations at PCS EDVENTURES & THRUST UAV, said: “we have been developing our own range of flight controllers which are extremely robust and very powerful which make them an ideal choice for a craft capable of VTOL and high performance such as the NeoXcraft.”
Dan Hayes, CEO VRCO, said: “PCS EDVENTURES & THRUST UAV provides us with mature and highly capable technology. We are very excited to be working with PCS EDVENTURES & THRUST UAV”.
VRCO | Neo X Craft – The future of Personal Air Mobility| VRCO.co.uk
We are delighted to have been invited to present our initial scale concept model in the Future of Speed Lab at The Goodwood Festival of Speed June 29th to July 2nd. We are preparing to for test flights this coming weekend and fine tuning the auto pilot and flight controller.
The revolutionary new air vehicle, NeoXCraft, will combine ducted fan technology, hybrid engine power, modern lightweight composite materials and advanced flight controllers to allow vertical take off and landing.
Nottingham, January 25, 2017– VRCO agrees partnership with Amber Tiger
Amber Tiger provides world class helicopter and UAV mission solutions globally. VRCO, a midlands based venture supported by Derby University and the Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering is developing a next generation personal VTOL craft. VRCO has today signed a MOU with Amber Tiger for the:
– Provision of services in the development of appropriate pilot’s license rating for the Neo X craft
– Provision of services in the development of the airworthiness rating of the Neo X Craft
Hotly-tipped cyber security firm VST Enterprises’ innovative VCode will be used on a project to build a low-emission autonomous flying vehicle.
The Manchester-based company executed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Neo X Craft project led by VRCO Limited.
VSTE’s technology will provide secure end-to-end traceability, maintenance monitoring on aircraft, parts and components.
VCode is a marking which can be scanned on or from a moving vehicle, from any angle and from great distances.
While VRCO’s vehicle is in prototype stage, VCode’s flexibility will be “indispensable”, since permissions and data contained within the code can be altered to suit any developments that will emerge from testing and developing the craft.
In addition to verifying identity, logging service records and tracing vehicles and parts, VCodes can be set to provide access only to users in a specified location.
Louis-James Davis, CEO at VST Enterprises, said: “VRCO is building an autonomous, aerial vehicle, and we are truly excited to deploy our adaptable, secure and versatile technology in such a future forward environment.
“Thanks to VRCO, a true personal VTOL craft will be available soon, and the benefits that VCode can provide make it exactly the right choice for the vehicle of the future.”
The Neo X Craft is supported by Derby University, The Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering and the European Regional Development Fund.
Chairman Mike Smith added: “VCode provides us with certainty around our craft, who flies them, which engineer works on them along with key metrics on operational hours down to the component level.
December 21, 2016 Radical Air Vehicle design for VRCO – PROJECT NEOXCRAFT
Research Contract signed with the Institute for Innovation and Sustainable Engineering (IISE) Derby University
Derby, December 21, 2016– VRCO executes contracts with the IISE for Technical Feasibility and Simulation Model Research
Following on from initial calculations on a novel airframe and propulsion system the institute will perform a full technical feasibility report with a range of simulation models. The work is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, D2N2 LEP Low Carbon allocation.
The engagement provides the company access to world leaders in aerospace engineering to provide the necessary independent verification and validation of its personal VTOL craft concepts.
Prof Angelo Maligno will now be carrying an in depth consultancy to develop the modelling and simulation necessary to produce the first scale prototype. Angelo will be concentrating on the composite airframe while Professor Paul Stewart concentrates on the electric propulsion and power conversion/storage system.
